Because tone is highly subjective and relies heavily upon personal preference it is almost impossible to buy an amp off the shelf and have it be just right for you. It’s kind of like buying a suit. If you want to look and feel good, then you need to have it custom tailored.

Each Blueverb is custom built one at a time, start to finish to fit your style and preferences. Although every amp has the same range of versatility, I carefully determine the sonic center of the amplifier’s voice to meet your individual needs as a player. I do this by selecting the precise value of over forty components based upon a detailed understanding of your tonal requirements. During the configuration stage I work very closely with you to determine what kind of tone you are seeking.

Even if you know very little about guitar amplifiers I can still determine what will work best for you. I ask a lot of questions so that I understand exactly what tone you want from your Blueverb. Because the language to describe tone is very underdeveloped today, I will usually listen to a CD that you send me with specific tones so I know we are talking about the same thing. In this respect you can think of me as a tone tailor that takes the full measure.

There are several configuration options for you to choose from.

How I do pricing is a little different but it gives a lot more flexibility in building an amp to meet your requirements. The main component of all Blueverbs is the chassis. It is essentially all of the electronics less the output transformer. It includes the Reverb/Vibrato footswitch and the Reverb tank and cables. It is the selection of components in the chassis that will determine the voicing of the amplifier. To this we add the output transformer, cabinetry and speakers to configure a Blueverb that is just right for you.

I also do five different amplifier voicings. Super Clean, Clean, Standard, Overdrive and Super Overdrive. All amps do Clean and Overdrive and have the same amount of gain. Clean amps do clean better than the Overdrive and vice versa. The Super Clean has much more deep low end and high-end sparkle compared to the Super Overdrive which has much smoother overdrive. I work together with you to decide which voicing best fits your playing style.

All of the Blueverbs share a common chassis, so unlike Fender, where the Deluxe Reverb is smaller than, say, the Super Reverb, there is no difference in chassis size for different wattage Blueverbs. The only difference in weight is due to the different size output transformers cabinetry and speakers. This also means that you can easily modify an amp originally purchased as a '25' to a '50' by simply changing the output transformer. This is because all Blueverbs have the same power supply capable of delivering well over 50 watts.

Raw Chassis (less Output Transformer) $2,000
Output Transformers
Bandmaster Reverb (4 ohm) $60
Super Reverb (2 ohm) $70
Bassman (4 ohm) $80
Twin Reverb (8 ohm) $90
Bukoverb (16 ohm) $100

I also make several cabs for the Blueverb. I also sell a number of extension cabs for use with the heads. The 2x12 ducted port is my favorite. It's about the same size as an early sixties Fender cab, but I added a ducted port that give it better bass response.

I know choosing from this many options can become a little daunting, but I wanted to make sure I could get each player his perfect tone. The best next step would be for us to speak on the phone so we can discuss your tone. If you have a good idea about what kind of tone your looking for, I can figure out what amp to build you.
